When JoJo released her “Tringle” a couple weeks ago, the internet went crazy. After all, this is the 13-year-old girl who pouted at us from our television screens on MTV’s TRL, ordering her two-timing man to “Leave (get out)/right now/it’s the end of you and me.” Following that track were the similarly successful songs “Baby It’s You” and the breakup anthem “Too Little, Too Late.”

But then, JoJo’s epic set of pipes went silent (with the exception of a very beautiful song called “Disaster” a few years back). She was, she explains, debating college, but then decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams. It’s taken her some time to perfect the process and get her music to a place where she was ready to release it, but she’s finally here. And we couldn’t be more grateful.

She put her vocal stylings on hilarious display in the above video, where she sings famous tunes impersonating famous singers. “That was weird,” she said with a laugh when she finished.

But afterward, she sat down to talk to us about growing up in the spotlight, the newer, more personal side of her music, and what’s in store for the future. Check out the intimate interview in the video below, and be sure to peep her new music on iTunes.
