Foxborough-raised singer and actress Joanna Noëlle Blagden “JoJo” Levesque shot to fame at the tender age of 13, when she became the youngest solo artist to have a number 1 single on the Billboard Music charts. The musician (who recently performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon) is back with her new “tringle,” her nickname for three songs released simultaneously. Boston Common spoke with JoJo about her December 14 performance at The Sinclair in Cambridge, her favorite things to do in Boston, and collaborating with other artists on her new songs. It’s been eight years, but JoJo promises the wait for her third full-length album will end in 2016.

The 24-year-old singer, now signed with Atlantic Records after protracted legalities to previous label Blackground Records and the production team Da Family, released an EP, III, during August with the dance floor-flavored “When Love Hurts” out as a single. And there’s a lot more where that came from.

“I’m, like, 70 songs deep and I’m probably going to keep recording because I love being in the studio,” JoJo tells Billboard. “I know it’s an uncertain time in music, but I still believe in albums. I love listening to body of work from an artist and really diving into their world that they wanted to invite us into.” (Read More…)
